The Bearhead Sisters are a trio who hail from Paul First Nation, Alberta. Their harmonious voices and cultural pride have garnered them serious recognition and accolades.
The group consists of three talented sisters: Allie, Trina, and Carly Bearhead, with their mother, Yvonne, providing guidance on sharing their voices and cultural teachings. In 2023, The Bearhead Sisters achieved a national platform when they appeared on the third season of Canada’s Got Talent. That same year they clinched the prestigious JUNO Award for Traditional Indigenous Artist of the Year for their album Unbreakable, which showcased their commitment to preserving and celebrating traditional First Nations pow-wow music as well as contemporary arrangements. The sisters draw their strength and inspiration from their family and Nakota heritage. Allie has stated that as Indigenous women they have faced barriers in pursuing their musical vision and simply being in the music world, yet they are steadfast in honouring and sharing the spirit within their music. These remarkable sisters continue to weave their cultural heritage into their music, leaving an indelible mark on the music scene throughout Turtle Island (North America).
