"I always look forward to performing in Calgary and reconnecting with my friends at NMC and all the fans,” said Andy Kim. “The National Music Centre has become very close to my heart. I’m proud to support the work NMC does and I’m excited to bring people together in Calgary for the third year of this very special annual tradition.”
Andy Kim, the iconic Montréal-born singer-songwriter and philanthropist, has left a lasting mark on the world of music and beyond. With two No. 1 Billboard hits and over 30 million albums sold, Kim’s chart-topping tunes, including “Sugar Sugar” and “Rock Me Gently,” have defined eras and touched generations. Kim’s achievements include multiple Hall of Fame inductions and an appointment to the Order of Canada. However, his dedication to philanthropy is equally remarkable.
Since 2005, Kim has been the driving force behind The Andy Kim Christmas, a beloved charity event that has raised nearly $3 million for various causes. This annual holiday concert unites big-name Canadian talent to perform holiday classics and original music in a warm, festive atmosphere, with all proceeds supporting important causes. Following its tremendous success in cities like Toronto and Montréal, the concert expanded to Calgary in 2022, where it has found a new home at the National Music Centre.
“We’re thrilled to support The Andy Kim Christmas fundraiser concert once again this year,” said Craig Senyk, Chair of the Board at Mawer Investment Management. “The National Music Centre has been a remarkable force for creativity, growth, and downtown revitalization through music. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our community to unite and celebrate the holiday season together.”
"Andy Kim is a national treasure, and we’re thrilled to have him back to bring holiday cheer to the West, while highlighting National Music Centre’s impact on the community,” said Andrew Mosker, NMC President and CEO. “Last year’s show featured an outstanding lineup of Canadian talent, and this year’s event promises to raise the bar even higher. Experience a night of holiday magic, music, and goodwill, all while supporting a worthy cause.”
