Live music on King Eddy’s main floor and rooftop, presented by NMC
(Calgary, AB — June 4, 2024) The National Music Centre (NMC) is excited to announce that it will be offering free admission to Studio Bell on Canada Day, July 1, thanks to the generous support of ATB Financial. July 1 also marks the 8th anniversary since Studio Bell’s opening in 2016, and NMC has once again planned a building-wide bash at Studio Bell and the King Eddy to celebrate the milestone.
From 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, visitors of all ages can enjoy a day filled with new exhibitions to explore, live performances, and hands-on activities. Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, is a cultural landmark dedicated to celebrating and preserving Canada's music story. NMC’s unique collection, interactive installations, and stunning architecture make it a must-visit destination for music lovers and culture and history enthusiasts alike.
Of the recently unveiled exhibitions, highlights include Milestone: Maestro Fresh Wes, dedicated to the “Godfather of Canadian hip-hop,” the Speak Up! exhibition that honours Indigenous trailblazers, and all four of the Canadian music hall of fame galleries have been updated with new content and storytelling about some of Canada’s most beloved musicians.
"We are thrilled to open our doors to the public for free on Canada Day, thanks to ATB Financial's incredible support," said Andrew Mosker, President and CEO of the National Music Centre. "This is a wonderful opportunity for Canadian and international visitors to experience the joy and inspiration that music brings, and to celebrate our 8th year anniversary in a meaningful way."

This iconic venue, known for its rich musical history and vibrant atmosphere, is the perfect way to cap off Canada Day.
