(Calgary, AB – June 9, 2022) On July 1, celebrate Canada Day presented by Bell and the 6th anniversary of Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre (NMC). Visitors can explore Canada’s musical mosaic through new exhibitions, hands-on, family-friendly activities, and pop-up performances across multiple floors. Admission on July 1 will be offered at a pay-what-you-can rate. Beat the line and book your tickets here.
To thank the community for six years of support, NMC will be offering 50% off all NMC Memberships for one-day only on July 1. Memberships will be available for purchase online at studiobell.ca/become-a-member and in-person.

In addition to hands-on activities and performances, visitors can explore several exciting new exhibitions, including Buffy Sainte-Marie: Pathfinder, a new retrospective exhibition by an innovator of digital art; Music & Wellness, which taps into the power of music on mental and physical health; and Canadian Music Hall of Fame: Deborah Cox, honouring the R&B/pop icon and 2022 Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee. Canada Day at the King Eddy
Visitors are encouraged to head over to the legendary King Eddy after their day of discovery. The King Eddy’s main floor and rooftop will be rocking across both floors with brews, bites, and live tunes, from 11:00 am ‘til close. Catch old-time banjoist and songwriter Amy Nelson, Cree/Métis blues-rocker Bebe Buckskin, and Franco-Albertan singer-songwriter Pierre Sabourin on the Eddy's main floor, and alternative R&B artist ZENON on the rooftop with more acts to be announced. Canada Day in East Village
Enjoy family-friendly activities throughout East Village. Shop at the East Village Neighbourhood Association Street Fair, located along 8 Avenue SE, between 4 Street and 6 Street. Explore the Central Library. Visit East Village Headquarters along RiverWalk to learn about the community. Discover St. Patrick’s Island, filled with live music and festivities. And much more!
There is a lot to do on Canada Day in East Village, so please allow enough time for transportation. We encourage you to walk, bike or take public transit to Studio Bell on Canada Day
