National Music Centre Announces Family Day with the Backyard Betties with Free Admission, Courtesy of Bell

(Calgary, AB — January 28, 2025) Celebrate Family Day at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre (NMC), with a jam-packed day of musical fun for all ages. Admission on February 17 is free courtesy of Bell! Explore five floors of interactive activities and enjoy live performances, including a headlining set from Calgary’s own Backyard Betties.
The Backyard Betties promise a toe-tapping performance the whole family can enjoy. Known for their authentic folk/Americana sound, the Betties engage audiences with Nancy Laberge's witty banter and heartfelt original songs, alongside the lively harmonies of Pip Hazell, Sarah Nielsen’s driving rhythms, and Mark Cassano’s captivating lead guitar. Their music is a celebration of life, love, and storytelling, making it the perfect soundtrack for a day of family connection and fun.
Family Day at Studio Bell has become a cherished tradition, inspiring families to strengthen their bonds through the power of music. This year’s festivities will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including a Beatles-themed family jam-along, a silent disco, and awe-inspiring demonstrations of the Kimball Theatre Organ. Visitors can also explore the newly extended exhibition, From Me to You: The Beatles in Canada 1964-1966, as well as five floors of displays celebrating Canada’s music legends, and instruments and artifacts that span 400 years of technology and innovation.
