Tickets on sale now for event with award-winning East Coast singer-songwriter
(Calgary, AB — June 27, 2024) National Music Centre (NMC) is thrilled to welcome celebrated East Coast singer-songwriter Jimmy Rankin for a live concert at Studio Bell on September 6 in support of his latest release, Harvest Highway. Rankin will also be reunited with his beloved Martin D-35 acoustic guitar that’s currently on loan to NMC.
Jimmy Rankin is the multiple JUNO and CCMA Award-winning solo artist and lead singer, guitarist and songwriting lynchpin behind multi-platinum Celtic-pop heroes, The Rankin Family. As a solo artist, he is also a member of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame, which resides at Studio Bell.
His most recent album and eighth solo effort, Harvest Highway, is a nostalgic journey that weaves tales of love, loss, and longing against the backdrop of Nova Scotia and beyond. Rankin's East Coast folk-rock roots shine through in each narrative-rich track. With nods to traditionals and poignant originals, Rankin's storytelling prowess captures the essence of his lifelong musical journey.
“Jimmy Rankin’s music has deeply resonated with fans from across Canada, especially those from the East Coast, for over 30 years,” said Andrew Mosker, NMC’s President and CEO. “With Jimmy being reunited with his main touring guitar that he used to write hits for The Rankin Family, this will be a truly unique and unforgettable night.”
NMC Presents: Jimmy Rankin at Studio Bell on September 6 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $65 and 20% off for NMC Members at studiobell.ca/whats-on. To become an NMC Member, visit studiobell.ca/become-a-member and save on NMC events and exhibitions.
