Grants Coordinator
Location: Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre: 300-851 4 Street SE Calgary
Reporting to: Director of Development
The Grants Coordinator at the National Music Centre (NMC) is a critical member of the Fund Development team and is directly responsible for managing our growing grants program. You will work directly with the Director of Development and Sr. Leadership to identify project funding needs that align with potential grant sources, coordinate the application process, and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Research and identify grants that align with NMC programs, mission, and vision
- Work with Director of Development and Sr. Leadership to identify project funding needs
- Coordinate the application, delivery, and reporting process to ensure all NMC projects and activities are compliant with internal and external policies and regulations.
- Provides additional team support by writing proposals and fund development communications
- Develop a relationship and maintain a database of current and past grant applications and resources for team and future reference.
- Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant management and funding opportunities relevant to NMC's mission.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of fundraising/grant-writing experience in charity or related field
- Experience with Grant programs including applying for and reporting on grants
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- Advanced analytical skills, timely problem-solving skills, communication, and presentation skills are essential for this role
- Understanding of basic accounting principles an asset
- Attention to detail is a must
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Raiser's Edge preferred
- Exceptional customer service and grant writing skills
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task efficiently, and respond to a high volume of ongoing requests in a timely fashion
- Advanced project management and client-management skills
- Proven history of creating and maintaining external and internal relationships
- Must provide a clear criminal record check
