Join the National Music Centre for an intimate evening of conversation with broadcaster Holger Petersen about his latest book, Talking Music 2: Blues and Roots Music Mavericks followed by a book signing. Hosted by CKUA Radio’s Peter North and featuring a performance by bluesy slide guitarist Ellen McIlwaine.

Holger Petersen is a veteran Canadian broadcaster whose weekly Saturday Night Blues on CBC Radio has been a fixture on the network for 30 years. At home in Alberta, his CKUA network show, Natch’l Blues, has been aired every week since 1969.

Petersen also runs his own label, Stony Plain Records – one of Canada’s longest surviving independent record companies – and was a founder of the Edmonton Folk Music Festival. He is a member of the Order of Canada and has Honorary Doctorate of Letters from both Athabasca University and the University of Alberta.
