Edmund Bull
Edmund Bull is renowned for his talent as a musician in both traditional and contemporary genres. He and the Red Bull Singers are World Champion vocalists and drummers respected across “NDN Country.”
Hailing from Little Pine Cree Nation near North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Red Bull have sung together for over 35 years and first gained national attention for Bull’s co-creation of the JUNO Award-winning round dance song “Darling Don’t Cry.” The band has since been in demand throughout Canada, the United States and Europe, with high-profile overseas credits including the ‘94 Goodwill Games in Russia. As a country-roots artist Bull reflects his Cree language and culture in his songs. His album Indian Boy was nominated for Best Male Artist at the 2000 Aboriginal Music Awards and was also nominated for Best Male Artist at the 2001 Native American Music Awards (NAMAs). He was nominated for Best Male Artist at the 2002 NAMAs for End of The Trail, and in 2007 won the NAMA Best Male Artist prize for his single “Follow Your Dreams.” Throughout his long career, Edmund Bull has put his Cree language and culture at the forefront of his music.
