Development Coordinator

Location: Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre: 300-851 4 Street SE Calgary
Reporting to: 
Interim Senior Director of Fund Development

The Development Coordinator at the National Music Centre is a critical member of the Fund Development team. The Development Coordinator is directly responsible for managing the Raisers Edge Database, Gift Processing, Pipeline management, stewardship, reporting, finance and coordination of fund development meetings, and general administrative support to the department.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Support the development team by managing donor pipelines and managing all stewardship and recognition activities
    • Lead annual donor stewardship reporting process in coordination with the Interim Senior Director of Development
    • Liaise between the finance and fundraising teams and manages smaller giving tracking and recording
    • Track cultivation and solicitation activities for donor/prospect visits, debrief and assist in tracking follow-up activity
    • Collaborate with development team members to ensure the timely and accurate completion of routine work such as gift acknowledgments, solicitation and cultivation mailings, and event invitations
    • Oversee the proper acknowledgment of development donations by drafting thank-you letters, greeting cards, and reports and making timely touchpoints
    • Maintain an up-to-date naming inventory and framework
    • Become proficient at all aspects of the Raiser’s Edge database, including data entry, stewardship management and tracking
    • Assist in planning, scheduling, and managing development volunteer groups as needed
    • Assist with stewardship/cultivation tours, and fundraising projects

    Qualifications

      • 2+ years of fundraising/stewardship experience in charity or related field
      • Advanced analytical skills, timely problem-solving skills, communication, and presentation skills are essential for this role
      • Attention to detail is a must
      • Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and Raiser's Edge preferred.
      • Exceptional customer service and stewardship skills.
      • Ability to prioritize, multi-task efficiently, and respond to a high volume of ongoing requests in a timely fashion
      • Advanced project management and client-management skills
      • Proven history of creating and maintaining external and internal relationships
      • Must provide a clear criminal record check
