Tickets go on sale on Jan. 8 for intimate evening in celebration of McCoy’s Hall of Fame induction
(Calgary, AB — December 13, 2023) National Music Centre and the Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA) are pleased to announce a conversation and live performance with 2023 Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Jason McCoy. The event happens on Friday, June 14 at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre. Tickets will go on sale on January 8, 2024 at 10:00 am MT at studiobell.ca/whats-on.
A multiple CCMA Male Vocalist of the Year and frontman of one of the best-selling bands The Road Hammers, McCoy will visit Studio Bell in Calgary to share songs and stories with his fans in an intimate setting. The evening will include an interview with McCoy, followed by a performance with McCoy and his band.
Last month, the National Music Centre in partnership with the CCMA launched an updated exhibition showcasing items from the 2023 Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame inductees, including McCoy (Artist inductee) and Brian Edwards (Builder inductee). Ticket holders for the live event will also get a chance to visit the exhibition.
Treasures from McCoy include a “western tux” jacket purchased in Nashville in the early ‘90s before making it big and worn again for his Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame induction 20 years later in 2023, as well as his very first guitar that was gifted to him when he was 12 years old, among many other items from Edwards and over 50 artifacts from past Hall of Fame inductees.
“Jason McCoy has left an indelible mark on the Canadian country music industry, and we’re excited to celebrate his contributions with this live event and his fans there to cheer him on,” said Andrew Mosker, NMC’s President and CEO. “Having recently launched the updated Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame exhibition, we can’t wait for Jason to see himself in this exhibition represented alongside other country legends.”
